Chris Holland was the triumphant winner of the Manx Short Mat Bowls Association’s two-bowl singles competition.
In the first round games, Collin Holland beat Ann Hollingworth 8-6 after a close last three ends, while Dave McTaggart defeated Sylvia Maddrell 8-5.
At the same stage Eddie Brew and Harry Minor had a close tussle before the latter eventually triumphed 6-5.
Chris Holland and Matt Quayle also had a thrilling game with the eventual champion winning 7-6.
In the last of the first round ties, Archie Collister raced away for six ends against James Teare before the latter found his length. It was not enough, however, with Collister running out 10-4 winner.
In the quarter-finals Collin Holland overcame Dave McTaggart 9-7 by virtue of taking four ends of two bowls.
Chris Holland beat David Cottier 9-5, Archie Collister had a close game with Minor to win 7-6 and Wyn Collister took victory over Richard Faragher 11-2.
The semi-finals saw Chris race to a 9-5 win over Wyn while her better half Archie had a titanic struggle against Collin to draw 8-8 on the last end to force an extra end.
With two bowls counting Collin was forced to play with weight which glanced off Archie’s bowl leaving him to take the spoils 10-8.
Chris was never really under pressure from Archie in the final, taking the title 11-7.
