Invention and creativity in European prisoner of war camps during the Second World War is the subject of the next lecture in Isle of Man College’s History and Heritage lecture series.
PhD student Stacey Astill will present ‘Canaries and KLIM Tins: Invention and Creativity in European Prison Camps, 1939-1945’ at Elmwood House lecture theatre.
It takes place on Wednesday from 6pm.
She said many items were created out of necessity but creation and invention also helped to stave off boredom.
