THE Rob Vine Fund received a boost thanks to bike-buying TT fans during this year’s TT fortnight.

UK bike dealer Northwest Honda, which has branches in Preston, Morecambe and Blackpool, pledged to make a donation to the Rob Vine Fund every time it sold a new or second-hand motorcycle during the TT period.

The result was, after two weeks of trading, they were able to donate £475 to the fund which pays for medical equipment around the TT Course as well as in the two Phil Hogg rescue ambulances and in the helicopters.

Sales executive Neil Morris, who organised the donation, said: ‘I have been a TT fan for years and have been lucky enough to travel to the races on many occasions. When you get close to the action and see the great work the marshals and the medics do, it gives you a real appreciation that the races don’t happen without the likes of the Rob Vine Fund.

‘Northwest Honda boasts its fair share of Isle of Man TT fans, so we thought we’d do our bit to try and put something back into the world’s greatest motorcycle road race.’

Dr David Stevens, secretary of the Rob Vine Fund and one of its directors, said: ‘We would like to convey our thanks to Northwest Honda for this brilliant sum of money.

‘This will go towards ensuring all the medical equipment represents current best practice for all the motorsport events we cover’.

Northwest Honda would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to all the customers who purchased a bike during the TT fortnight.
