THE Junior Chamber of Commerce hosted a topical breakfast at the Claremont Hotel, Douglas, hosted by TT press officer Simon Crellin of RedPoint PR.

Organisers said the response to the event was fantastic and once again the JCC was inundated with requests for tickets and there were more than 80 people there.

The event provided an opportunity for motor sports enthusiasts and sceptics alike to hear how the TT brand has been turned around since 2005 after Simon Crellin and his team got on board.

The talk provided an insight into managing the brand of the TT and the event itself and how this in turn has led to increased financial revenue generated by the races. In addition it also highlighted wider benefits that the races bring to the Island such as an increased Global presence that is obtained through the International T.V exposure that the races now receive.

Simon then went on to express some of the thoughts surrounding the future of the Manx Grand Prix, which is under discussion in Tynwald at present.

The next event will be a breakfast event entitled ‘An introduction to e-gaming on the Isle of Man’ on June 19 at the Claremont, with guest speakers Steve Brennan and Ray Davies.

The Chairman of the JCC was also able to announce on the night that there is to be a Black-Tie event in honour of Help for Heroes with guest speakers from the RAF.

This event will take place on July 13 at the Palace Hotel, Douglas.

JCC membership is open to IoM resident individuals and corporate organisations.

Further details on these and future events can be found on the JCC website www.jcc.im or by emailing events@jcc.im
