Tesco Stores Ltd has applied for a 54 square metre unit for seasonal retail sales in the car park area of its Douglas store.
In the planning application (14/00594/B) it states: ‘The proposal will not result in a material impact on any existing shops and centres and will meet a need which is increasingly being met by the internet.’
Seasonal products to be sold would include garden furniture and equipment, BBQ equipment, TT related merchandise, camping equipment, summer/outdoor clothing, and Christmas related goods.
It says the ‘comparatively small loss of car parking is not considered to result in any unacceptable impact on overall parking provision at the site’.
