THE Narradale Fell Race, the first long event in the 2012 Rentokil Manx Fell League, took place on Sunday with a record entry of 50 runners - a great turnout for one of the tougher courses on the calendar.
Sunny conditions for the Up and Running-sponsored 20km race led to a number of records being broken.
This contrasted with the last race in 2010, when wind, rain and navigation caused major problems for the small field of 17 starters.
Lloyd Taggart won Sunday’s race from Simon Skillicorn and Ian Gale, while Jackie Lee was the leading woman from Judith Quane and Kate Burge.
