It has been a year since the island suffered its worst snowfall for 50 years and thousands of farm animals died.

In this week’s Manx Independent we look back at what happened then and ask members of the island’s farming community how they’re getting on now.

The front page’s main story is about a police officer who resigned after she broke the law.

Inside, we have a number of stories from reporters who were in Tynwald this week including:

The Manx Radio report

The findings of the investigation into the Kirk Michael land swap deal

The report that found Manx children’s services were weak

Other stories include:

The withdrawal of plans for Callow’s Yard

A coroner’s auction of Graham Ferguson Lacey’s possessions

The latest on the row about St Peter’s Church in Cregneash

A campaign against the creation of a new private school

The Independent’s Island Life supplement looks forward to Swan Lake and the Vagina Monologues coming to the island.

Twelve pages of action-packed sport include reports on Cam Donald signing for Norton in the TT.

With two pages of What’s On, your seven-day television schedule and a page of letters, the Manx Independent is an essential read this week.

It’s in the shops now.
