Save the Children’s Festival of Trees awards dinner has taken place at King William’s College, Castletown.

The dinner marked the end of a successful Festival of Trees with a record number of exhibits displayed at the airport during the Christmas period.

Different organisations created their own Christmas trees, which were displayed over the festive period at the airport.

This year’s winners included champion fundraisers Tynwald Mills and Helping Hands, the charitable giving division of Pokerstars with the Ted Haley trophy being shared between them.

Best of festival was shared between pupils at Ashley Hill School and The Brush Stroke Art Group.

The travellers’ favourite, voted for by the public, was Ashley Hill School.

The Festival of Trees was also featured on the BBC’s Songs of Praise and has raised more than £7,000 for the work of Save the Children.

Anyone interested in taking part next year should ring John Cuddy on 662245.
