A surprise guest at the Joey Dunlop Foundation dinner this year was long-distance cyclist Stuart Bratt who presented the charity with a cheque for almost £800.
Stuart raised the money cycling from his home in the UK Midlands to the birthplace of the late Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli in Italy during last autumn. Along the way he visited Ballymoney, home town of Joey Dunlop in Northern Ireland, and completed a cycle lap ofthe TT course here in the Isle of Man before visiting the Joey Dunlop Foundation’s disabled holiday accommodation at Braddan Bridge. TT rider Conor Cummins performed the traditional tombola draw for the Honda Fireblade in Demon Vimto colours. The winner lives in Aberdeen.
This year’s tombola prize (to be drawn in January 2015) is a Honda CBR600 John McGuinness replica with Mr McGuinness’ name in the log book as first registered owner.
