Plans for a rival ferry service have been abandoned.
Founder of the Ellan Vannin Line Kurt Buchholz announced yesterday (Thursday) that he could no longer meet a planned March start for a proposed cargo operation and could now not give a definitive launch date for either a freight service or a TT passenger service.
But today EVL posted a notice on its website, featuring a red ‘stop’ button, which read: ‘Today we have received the rejection to our application for the use of the links span bridges in Douglas by the director of harbour and airports.’
