SURE-sponsored Vagabonds return to South Lancashire and Cheshire Division Two action this weekend with a tricky away game at Trentham.
The Manx side will be travelling in confident mood after a good showing last weekend against a determined Southern Nomad team in the BSM Manx Cup semi-final.
That win came at a loss with the outstanding Akki Van den Berg ruled out for a couple of weeks with an ankle injury.
Two players vying for his position will be Ben Sharples and Josh Phillips. Both came off the bench last Saturday and used their freakishly-sized bodies to get over the gainline with some powerful running in open play.
At the time of going to press, Tom Gascoyne remains a doubt to travel because of work commitments, but Vagabonds will be boosted by the return of Aiden O’Shea. He will be well rested and the Manx outfit will be hoping he can use his skills in midfield to unlock the Trentham defence.
Trentham have had some notable results lately and will look to use their big pack at home again to good effect.
This is a game that Vagabonds will be targeting to win and keep the pressure on the teams above them.
