EMERGENCY services attended after air traffic control thought they spotted smoke coming from the undercarriage of a Flybe flight as it came into land at Ronaldsway.
The flight to Liverpool had returned to Ronaldsway shortly after take off on Sunday afternoon following an non-emergency cabin fault. The captain had decided to return to the island’s airport as there were no engineers available at Liverpool.
Airport director Ann Reynolds said: ‘When he was landing air traffic control through they saw a small puff of smoke on the undercarriage. The aircraft was stopped on the runway while fire crews checked it out.’
Once given the all-clear, the aircraft took off again for Liverpool.
