Manx rugby player Phil Cringle has been in action for Scotland’s under-20 side at the IRB Junior World Cup in France.
The former Castle Rushen and Douglas prop forward has been used as a substitute in all three of the Scots’ pool games against Argentina, Wales and Samoa.
Despite a 36-33 win in their final group fixture against the South Pacific Island on Thursday evening, earlier defeats by the Argentines and the Welsh mean Isle of Man Sport aid recipient Cringle and his team-mates now face the USA on Tuesday in the prestigious competition’s 9-12th place play-offs.
That game kicks off at 7.15pm (BST) at the Stade Pascal Laporte in Nantes.
