Vikings A come from behind to beat Ramsey

Paragon Valkyrs A ended the unbeaten record of IOMA Group Bacchas A with a 5-2 victory in the Wi-Manx Men’s Premier Division on Saturday.

Greg Miller led the way for Valkyrs with a hat-trick and he was joined on the scoresheet by Julian Volley and Vic Ferns. Bacchas replied through Andy Whiting and Jamie Brown (See fuller report right).

Honours ended even between IOMA Bacchas B and Celton Manx Castletown A. Tom Evans and Tom Beresford netted for the Tromode side with Castletown replying through Chistian Steriopulos and an own goal.

Paragon Valkyrs B added to their points total with a 2-1 victory over Manx Telecom Vikings B. Grahame Shimmin scored both goals for the westerners while Vikings replied through their captain Ian Perry.

Manx Telecom Vikings A came from behind to defeat CM Skye Ramsey A. Nat Smith put Ramsey in front but goals from Dave Millward, Steve Underwood, Ieuan Williams and Andy Harding saw Vikings take the points.

Wi-Manx Men’s Division One

Celton Manx Castletown B continued their good run of form with a 5-2 victory over Manx Telecom Vikings C.

Robin Masson led the way for Castletown with two goals. He was joined on the scoresheet by Miles Ashworth, Will Higgins and Paul Harris. Ian Duggua and James Lowey were the Vikings scorers

Paragon Valkyrs C claimed their first points of the season with a 2-1 victory over IOMA Group Bacchas C. Goals from Danny Shefford and an own goal proved enough for the westerners. Dave Kneale was the only Bacchas player to find the net.

The points were shared between CM Skye Ramsey B and IOMA Group Bacchas Colts. Freddie Hall, Ed Knight and an own goal were the Colts scorers. No details of the Ramsey scorers were received.

Wi-Manx Women’s Premier Division

IOMA Group Bacchas A were victorious over Celton Manx Castletown A at the NSC on Saturday lunchtime.

Laura Atkinson top scored for the Tromode side with a hat-trick and Cat Hodgson added a single strike. Kerry Kelly was the only Castletown player to find the net.

CM Skye Ramsey A came from behind to defeat IOMA Group Bacchas B. Christina Kermeen led the way for Ramsey with a hat-trick, Julie Chesterton scored twice with Lynsey Beynon and Vicki Garner adding single strikes.

Paragon Valkyrs B returned to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over Celton Manx Castletown B. Goals from Hannah Scarlett, Rebecca Nathan, Eleanor Devereau and two from Ellan Cleator with two proved enough for the westerners. Hazel Knowles was the only Castletown player to find the net.

Wi-Manx Women’s Division One

Honours ended even between CM Skye Ramsey B and Paragon Valkyrs C as the current league leaders were held to a draw by Ramsey.

Caitlin Morter scored for the northerners with Hannah Hesselton replying for the westerners.

The points were shared in an eightgoal thriller between IOMA Group Bacchas C and Fearless Saracens.

Steph Cottier led the way for Saracens with a hat-trick with Anya Watterson adding a further strike. Bacchas replied through Vicky Leeming, Abbey Magee, Georgia Perry and Sarah Rynn.

Celton Manx Castletown C equalised in the last seconds of the game to take a share of the points with HQ Harlequins. Helen Cave gave Harlequins the lead which they maintained until the final play of the game when Claire Powner netted a penalty corner to level the tie.

Manx Telecom Vikings B were victorious over Manx Telecom Vikings C scoring five goals while conceding just one. Beckie O’Brien led the way for Vikings second string with a hat-trick. She was joined on the scoresheet by Sammy Bowden and Jessica Tarpey.

Daisy McGarrigle was the only player to find the net for Vikings C.
