THE One World Centre (OWC) is inviting entries in a competition to create a short film on global injustice.
The challenge is for primary school children to create a film of no more than four minutes about an aspect of global injustice such as poverty, human rights, access to clean water and sanitation or environmental impact.
It’s Not Fair! is sponsored by Sure, and its involvement means many of the winning films will be shown on Sure TV.
It is hoped each participating school will have a mentor through film-makers ManninShorts.
The entry deadline is March 22. The best films will be shown at a presentation screening after Easter.
The school judged to have made the best film overall will benefit from a workshop from ManninShorts.
Other categories include technical quality, most enjoyable and most informative.
OWC director Rosemary Clarke said: ‘We are thrilled Sure has agreed to sponsor this competition and offered the opportunity to broadcast some of the films.
‘As well as giving the children an extra incentive to produce a really good piece of filmwork, it will bring their thoughts on some of the global inequalities that exist to a much wider audience.’
