AYRE Clay Target Club held the fourth round of its Winter Down the Line League at Blue Point on Sunday in very cold conditions.
Leaders after round one were Stan Skinner and Neil Parsons on 25. Skinner had a narrow advantage, using the second barrel twice for a score of 73 to Parsons’ 73. Close behind were Harvey Wood on 24/71 and Jeff Fargher on 24/68.
Wood hit the only perfect score of 25/75 in the second round while Skinner shot consistently with another 25/73 to leave both in first position with a total of 146 points apiece.
Nigel Kelly put in a score of 24/70 but a poor score of 19/57 in his first round put him out of the positions. Parsons, Stephen Sayle, Kevin Oates and Paul Magee all hit 23 in the second round.
In the legendary Battle of the Corletts, normal service was resumed with Bob beating Dave with 119 points to 110.
