EverYoung fever came to the Isle of Man when the teen band performed at the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent concert at the Villa Marina in aid of Junior Achievement (JA).
The four-strong teenage vocal pop group – Cherelle, Eyal, Hollie and Jack – graduated from the world-famous Sylvia Young Theatre School and have been touring more than 150 schools in the UK.
They thrilled Castle Rushen and Ballakermeen high school students when they performed at the two schools and within 24 hours had received more than 200 tweets and Facebook messages from fans wanting to know when they could see the group again.
The following day EverYoung signed autographs at Manx Telecom’s shop in Strand Street and performed in the Strand Centre.
JA’s Sue Cook said: ‘I don’t think the Isle of Man has ever seen anything quite like it. When the group performed in the Strand Centre there were more than 300 screaming fans.
‘We even found it necessary to telephone the airport to warn them that a sizable number of young people would be going to the airport to wave them off.
‘The work of our charity is all about helping young people succeed and I am really pleased that we could give these enterprising young artists a platform where they could showcase their talent.’
The group, which have been signed to EMI label services and Seymour Place Music, have arranged to come back to perform in their own high-energy show at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas on Sunday, February 24, to help raise funds for Junior Achievement. They also plan to visit more schools.
