2E2-sponsored Douglas host potentially the biggest game of the South Lancashire and Cheshire Division Two season so far this Saturday at Port-e-Chee.

Oswestry come to town after demolishing Vagabonds last weekend 41-0.

They will obviously be on a high but Douglas are no slouches especially at home and this young side beat the Shropshire outfit on their home patch earlier in the season with a bonus-point win.

Reports from inside the Vagas camp have suggested that they were out muscled up front and their usually dominant pack spent the afternoon going backwards making it a difficult day for No.8 Akkie Van Den Berg.

Douglas must take note of this and, as they have done this season exceptionally well, balance meeting a big pack head on with moving the ball quickly and using the likes of Will Latta and Andy Evans to open the game up.

The weather may well have a bearing on the match the dryer the better for the Douglas outfit.

No injury news to report but Dan Creer has left for his annual sheep shearing sebatical in New Zealand.

This weekend will also be the last game for a while for star fly-half Bryn Snellgrove who is off travelling with girlfriend Carly Wilson.

The influential Snellgrove will, however, will be back in time for the start of next season along with Chjristian Brew and Stephen Tansell who have also got the travelling bug.

Kick off this weekend is early at 2pm and for all players, supporters and friends of Bryn and Carly we will be having a leaving party at the club, fancy dress is optional but for those that wish to partake it will be countries of the world.
