The Mannin Art Group’s show is currently taking place St Paul’s Hall, Market Place.
It runs till August 6.
Now in its 67th year, the secret of the Mannin Art annual exhibition’s continuing success is its diversity. Works by local artists such as David Byrne, Nancy Corkish and Michele Tramontana hang alongside those by newer, emerging talent.
There is variety, too, in the range of media used: silk painting and encaustic wax feature, as well as the more traditional oils, pastels and watercolours. Then there is the subject matter, ranging from landscapes, flowers and wildlife to harbour scenes, well-known beauty spots, and the exquisite tiny studies in the ‘miniatures’ section.
Before they leave, visitors have a chance to enter the raffle for a painting by the late Pat Kind and vote for their favourite picture.
The show is open 10am – 6.30pm daily until it closes on Saturday at 4pm.
