Residential development on the former grounds of Colby Football Club will result in some traffic disrupton in the area next month while Manx Gas provides a mains network in the area.
The gas main will run from Main Road to the building site in Glen Road with the works taking place from September 4 and estimated to be completed by the 18th.
Manx Gas spokesman Robert Gardner said the majority of the groundwork would be undertaken with the aid of a traffic control system and as a result the road would remain open to provide access to properties and ensure minimum disruption to residents.
‘When the groundwork reaches the point where it would be unsafe to continue with traffic lights, the road will be closed from 9am to 4pm daily until the work has been completed,” he added. ‘Manx Gas will be placing signage in the area of Glen Road, informing all residents of possible disruption to traffic flow and diverting them to alternative routes while work is on-going.
‘We will ensure that residents are updated regularly while the work takes place. Manx Gas apologises for any inconvenience this essential work will cause, but in the interests of public safety it is necessary for it to be completed in this way.’
