THE CAST of the Gaiety’s production of the hit play Calendar Girls are to bare almost all for charity.

The women will be stripping off to produce the supporting calendar which they hope will raise around £20,000 for a variety of cancer charities.

The play which is being produced by Carl Parker is to be staged in September by In Yer Space Productions. Mr Parker said the aim was to sell 5,000 calendars and divide the money between Macmillan, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Hospice Isle of Man and Manx Cancer Help.

To support the venture, he is calling on businesses as well as any private individuals to come forward and sponsor each month.

‘The idea is for companies to have their own products on display in the calendar including logos and branding visible on the front cover and with their chosen month.

Companies can also supply any special events to be marked in the calendar,’ Mr Parker said. The idea is any products, from foodstuff to mobile phones could be strategically incorporated into the photographs.

In return for sponsoring a page in the calendar, companies will also receive a full-page advertisement in the Calendar Girls theatre programme as part of the deal.

Calendar Girls is at the Gaiety Theatre from September 5 to 8.

The calendar is being produced by Mannin Media and Mr Parker hopes it will be available in shops across the island. It wll also be sold at other In Yer Space productions this year including Grease and Misery as well as Calendar Girls itself.

Any individuals or companies who would be interested in sponsoring the charity calendar, should contact Mr Parker on 241191 or email {mailto:carlparker2000@gmail.com|carlparker2000(at)gmail.com}.
