A 63-year-old man has been handed a suspended sentence after admitting sending threatening letters to Treasury Minister Eddie Teare MHK.
John James Corran, of Allan Street, Douglas, was sentenced to three months’ custody, suspended for two years.
A restraining order was also put in place prohibiting Corran from entering Mr Teare’s address in Andreas or the curtilage.
Corran pleaded guilty to conduct causing fear of violence after sending two letters threatening Mr Teare and his wife in 2014 and 2015.
He was also ordered to pay £125 court costs.
