Peel RNLI lifeboat ‘Ruby Clery’ was launched this morning at around 7-30am following a man overboard call from Belfast coastguard.
Belfast coastguard said that they had received a signal from a man overboard alarm.
Within minutes Peel lifeboat was launched, alongside the local Peel lobster boat, only to find that the alarm had been activated accidentally.
Having established there was no danger to the crew the lifeboat returned to station.
The ‘MOB Guardian’ was developed by the RNLI to give warning via satellite of crewmen in danger a distance from their boat.
