Douglas High School Old Boys are just one win away from clinching the Canada Life Combination One title after they beat St George’s 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Goals from Craig Murphy (2) and Cam Thwaites means victory over third-place Rushen on Saturday would give them an unassailable lead at the top of the standings.
Nearest rivals Corinthians currently trail Old Boys by a point, after they beat RYCOB 4-1, but have played a game more than Liam Buckley’s Blackberry Lane outfit.
The Whites play their final game of the season on Saturday away at Ramsey.
Elsewhere, Rushen, who beat DHSOB in the weekend’s Junior Cup semi-final, continued their good recent form with a 10-0 win at Ayre. Peel lost 2-1 to Laxey, while St John’s overcame Ramsey 3-0.
In JCK Combination Two, Braddan are four points away from clinching the title after they claimed a walkover in their fixture with Foxdale.
The Swans trail already finsihed Douglas Royal by that margin with two games left to play against Onchan and Castletown.
Reigning champions Douglas Athletic brought their campaign to a close with a 6-2 win over Malew.
