Ellan Vannin CC’s Appleby Sportive takes place this Monday, starting and finishing from Ramsey Rugby Club in Mooragh Park, Ramsey.
The event consists of a choice of four courses (38km, 72km, 100km and 118km). The shortest is a flat route round the Northern Plains and is suitable for all abilities.
The 72, 100 and 118km routes have one, two and three major climbs respectively; Druidale, Slieau Whallian and the Sloc, featuring more than 1,500 metres of ascent.
l Round two of the Bikestyle handicap road race league takes place this evening, Thursday, starting from Jurby parade ground at 7pm.
l Round three of the RL360 Youth Criterium League was cancelled at the NSC on Tuesday evening as a result of the heavy showers of hail.
Round four takes place this coming Tuesday.
l The Nick Corkill Memorial Road Race scheduled to take place on Sunday week, May 8, has been postponed because of roadworks on the Andreas to Ramsey road.
The disruptions are likely to continue until August at least.

l The 2016 Canada Life International-sponsored 10-mile time trial league got underway last evening (Wednesday). It is running exclusively on the Ramsey course, starting on the Jurby Road (half-a-mile outside of Ramsey).
The HQ and sign-on will be at the former Isle of Man Film Studios (now the Mountain View Innovation Centre). Round two is next Wednesday at 7pm.
