There is a mixture of GH Corlett Woods Cup and JCK Division Two matches taking place this weekend.

In the preliminary round of the Woods Cup, Douglas Royal and Douglas Athletic will attempt to battle it out in their rescheduled match at Ballafletcher. The main focus, however, will be in the south of the island where Douglas and District’s first team make history by playing in a cup semi-final for the first time in its history.

They face a tough task though, as they go head-to-head with a Colby side in good form having won four out of their last five games.

The Moonlighters have already beaten the visitors 2-0 in the league this season and will be favourites to book their place in the final, but they will need to wary of complacency against the Noble’s Park outfit who have the ability to cause a cupset on their day.

Away from the Woods Cup there are four games taking place in JCK Division Two. with with Castletown facing a stern test of their promotion credentials with a tricky trip to Pulrose Utd.

The Mets are currently seven points ahead of Gymns and Colby but have crucially played three games more so they can ill afford to drop many points between now and the end of the season.

Should Town slip up, Gymns will be waiting in the wings to close the gap should they get the better of Foxdale in Tromode, while Braddan could climb back into the top four if they take all three points at Michael Utd.

The final game sees a derby of sorts as Onchan travel to Governor’s Athletic.
