Films in Peel is starting its eighth annual film programme with the latest James Bond film, Spectre.
The screening takes place at the Centenary Centre, in Peel, on Wednesday next week.
After a test run in November 2008, Films in Peel started a full programme of films the following January.
And since then, the community initiative has screened 150 films and sold more than 11,500 tickets.
Committee member Jenny Oliver said: ‘We put on a wide range of films for our audience so hope there is something for everyone.
‘We originally thought most of our audience would be local but actually we get people coming from all over the island.
‘We have got to know many of them and that creates a very friendly atmosphere.
‘It is more than a film night, it is a social event.
People come early and have a drink at the bar or a cup of coffee and chat with friends or complete strangers.’
She said the Centenary Centre provided the perfect location: ‘We have raked seating, a fantastic cinema quality screen, great sound and, thanks to the Isle of Man Arts Council, a new full HD projector.’
The programme this season also includes period drama Brooklyn (March 23), World War One foreign language film Theeb (April 13), historical drama Suffragette (April 27), black comedy Wild Tales (May 11) and Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies (May 25).
Tickets cost £5 and are available from Celtic Gold in Peel and online at www.etickets.im/fip.
Reservation tickets (payable on the door) are available at Shakti Man, Ramsey; HMV, Douglas; Thompson Travel, Port Erin.
The doors and bar open at 7pm and the films start at 7.45pm. For further information visit www.centenarycentre.com or email filmsinpeel@manx.net
