St George’s romped into the semi-finals of the Paddy Power FA Cup on Saturday afternoon with a 13-0 win at Division Two side Douglas Royal.
Fresh from his trial at Blackpool FC earlier in the week, Conor Doyle scored five joining Calum Morrissey, Ciaran McNulty (2), Johnny Myers, Jack McVey, Joey Morling and former Royal man Ryan Kelly (2) on the scoresheet at Ballafletcher.
Fellow competition favourites Peel also made light work of their quarter-final opponents Ayre, winning 4-0 at Douglas Road.
Division Two Malew nearly pulled off the shock of the round as they took on top-flight Laxey.
Michael Wheeler gave the southerners the lead against his former club before Laxey pulled level. The Miners then took the lead only for Jordan Krypner to restore parity once more.
Sean Gavin, however, popped up to land the winner for Steve Moran’s Premier League outfit.
There was another close game at Garey Mooar, where Union Mills required extra time to beat fellow CLPL side RYCOB 4-2. The latter had Lewis Moran sent off for two bookable offences.
In the day’s sole GH Corlett Woods Cup tie, Colby netted a last-minute winner though Carl Hickey to beat Braddan 3-2 at Victoria Road.
Ramsey remain in the Canada Life Premier League’s bottom two after they lost 2-1 at home to St Mary’s, the Saints finding the back of the net through Marc and Steven Priestnal.
Marown are just above the drop zone after they lost 8-0 to Corinthians, while DHSOB beat St John’s 4-2 the latter having Eric Kelly sent off.
Division Two leaders Douglas Athletic made it 16 wins from 16 games with a 6-1 over Michael United.
Gymns promotion hopes took a dent as they lost 3-1 to Pulrose at Tromode, while in Division Two’s other match Douglas and District drew with Onchan 2-2.
