There’s likely to be a log jam or two in the region of Douglas Promenade this Saturday morning when upwards of 400 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the first round of a new five-kilometre series.

The opening two events at Douglas on Saturday and February 24 are sponsored by Skanco, with the next round at Port Erin on March 19 sponsored by Paddy Power. Further races are likely to take place at Ramsey, Peel and possibly Castletown in April and May.

Entries have been accepted via a pinned post link on a public group page on Facebook. The entry is £6 per event, but there will be a discount of £1 per event for those entering all six rounds.

Race numbers and electronic timing bands will be handed out at Up & Running Ltd, Buck’s Road, Douglas tomorrow (Friday) between 10am and 5.30pm. Signing on at the event on Saturday will be from 8.30 onwards for a 10am start from the aptly titled Bottleneck car park.

The out-and-back course will stretches far as the former Summerland site and back.

Volunteer marshals are asked to contact Chris Cale on 496082.
