THE Lieutenant Governor is going to go to Onchan Park twice this weekend.
On Saturday Adam Wood will be officially opening a sensory garden, to be named the Jubilee Garden after the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
The opening will take place at 3pm.
Earlier, there will be a dog agility show at 1pm, and the village fair will start at 2pm.
Stalls will be set up by local groups and societies, with entertaiment from Cookie the Clown, the Western School of Dance, Onchan Entertainers and a Punch and Judy show.
In addition, there will be a children’s colouring competition judged by commissioners’ chairman Robin Turton.
The usual park attractions will be available, plus face-painting, balloon modelling, bouncy castles, trampolines and children’s rides.
A fire engine, a police car, a Red Cross ambulance, the CHAT bus and the Manx Play Buswill also be there.
On Sunday, Mr Wood will be opening a family fun day/car boot sale at Onchan Park Stadium to raise funds and awareness for the island’s charity for the homeless, Kemmyrk, at 11am.
Among the attractions will be: Clear Mountain Martial Arts performing a demonstration; Magician Keith and Friends; The Rushen Twirlers; Caity B and friends; Zumba-tastic; Ballaugh Primary Dancers and the Kemmyrk Grand Tombola Extraordinaire Prize Draw
In addition there will be bouncy castles, popcorn, candyfloss, smoothie drinks, face-painting, temporary tattoos, donuts and helium balloons.
