A cyclist was badly injured on Tuesday night after an accident on one of the island’s busiest roads during rush hour.
He was struck by a vehicle at the entrance of the car park to McDonald’s restaurant on Peel Road, Douglas, at about 5.05pm.
Constable David Cubbon, from the central neighbourhood policing team, is investigating.
The incident happened during a busy time and there were lots of pedestrians and other vehicles around.
Constable Cubbon said: ‘The police are keen to hear from anybody who was in the vicinity at the relevant time who may have witnessed anything regarding this incident.’
He appealed for people who saw anything or who had any information regarding the incident, no matter how small, to contact the police as soon as possible.
