A MAN has been arrested and interviewed in connection with a theft from Jurby Church.
Yesterday (Monday) Ramsey police recovered the chalice that was stolen last week from Jurby Church.
A 22-year-old man from Ramsey was arrested and interviewed in connection with this seizure. He was subsequently bailed pending further inquiries.
Police have not recovered silver collection plates.
Sergeant Andy Kneen of Ramsey police said: ‘We are anxious to hear from anyone with any information in connection with this crime. We believe that the chalice and plates may have been offered for sale to dealers. I would ask anyone who has been approached to get in touch with the police. Although there has been an early arrest, this is very much a “live” inquiry involving officers throughout the island.’
