RAMSEY resident Cal Crutchlow continued his impressive season with a fifth place finish at the Assen MotoGP in Holland on Saturday.
The Yamaha Tech 3 rider qualified in fifth place but was forced off the track at the very first corner when Alvaro Bautista crashed into Jorge Lorenzo, scuppering the latter’s hopes of claiming four wins in a row for the first time.
However, in similar fashion to Silverstone two weeks earlier, Crutchlow recovered to work his way up the field and eventually claimed a very creditable fifth place, with the race win going to Casey Stoner.
Report in Monday’s Isle of Man Examiner.
