Manx Mountain Bike AGM this evening at the Creg

Manx Mountain Bike Club’s annual general meeting takes place in Creg-ny-Baa Hotel’s upstairs meeting room at 7pm this evening, Thursday.

All are welcome to attend what is an opportunity to vote in a new committee and discuss the way forward for racing and other events in the island.

l Round two of the Zurich-supported Youth Mountain Bike Winter Series takes place in Archallagan Plantation this Sunday, October 25 starting 1pm.

The events are primarily fun-based, designed to encourage more youngsters out into the island’s forests. Coaches will be on hand to offer advice and tips.

Round three is at South Barrule on November 15 and the final event at Archallagan on November 22.

Each event will cost £2 to enter and will begin with balance bikes/under-fours at 1pm, followed by under-sixes, under-eights, under-10s, under-12s and u14/u16s.

l The Stuart Slack Parishes Ride takes place on Sunday, November 1. It will start, as usual, from the main gates of the NSC (on New Castletown Road), between 8.30 and 9am. All entries at Bikestyle please.

l The ever-popular winter spin sessions and core workouts commenced on Tuesday and continue this evening (Thursday) at Carrefour Health Club in Douglas.

The sessions follow a structured spin session followed by a short core workout and run for a total of nine weeks up to Christmas, resuming after New Year.

Tuesdays start at 6.30pm and Thursdays at 7.30pm. The cost for the nine-week session is £45 (cheques should be made payable to Brian Johnson).
