The Fletcher Christian Mutiny, a unit that entrenches itself in the heavier end of the spectrum, are making a return to the live scene this weekend following a brief break after their TT gig campaign back in the summer.
Think System Of A Down, Black Sabbath, In Flames and Metallica and you’re in the right ballpark.
The band, whose ranks are made up by Nell Kneale and Justine Lewis on guitars, Stephen Quinn on drums, Keef Lawler on vocals and Andrew Cregeen on bass are set to appear at Amber in Douglas on Saturday night.
The doors open at 8pm and the event is free entry.
While we’re on the subject of all things Amber related, the line-up has now been finalised for their annual Battle of the Bands competition which takes place throughout November.
The competition will take place over three heats with Han FX, Ironclad and Matt Kelly kicking off the proceedings on Saturday, November 7, Mad Daddy, The Fletcher Christian Mutiny and Ignite The Sky making up the second heat on Saturday, November 14 and Mae Challis, Southern Audio Conspiracy and Teresa McNulty joined by the charmingly named Armad**do to round of the heats.
The winner of each heat will go through to take part in a three band final on Saturday, November 28 with a first prize of £750 up for grabs.

A couple of things were also brought to my attention this week.
Firstly, this Friday night sees the New Social Studios on Church Street in Douglas hosting Zurich Jazz Combo.
The duo, made up by Elmar Kluth etc, ‘one of Switzerland’s best Bebop keyboard musicians’ and Sarah Peng, ‘distinctive voice with a stunning rhythmical feel’ make a return to the Isle of Man for the first time in five years.
The duo that have also appeared on the bill at The Big Wheel Blues Festival will be backed on this occasion by locals Steve Rowe on bass and Danny Kneale on drums.
The doors for this event open at 8pm. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/NewSocialStudios
And finally, fresh from their recent appearance at The Monsters of Rock show at Amber two weeks ago, Iron Maiden cover band Ed Force One make their way north to Bar Logo in Ramsey this Saturday night.
The band specialise in the earlier era with a set made up of classics including The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Aces High, 2 Minutes To Midnight, The Number Of The Beast, Fear Of The Dark, The Clairvoyant, plus a mid-set romp through the eleven minute opus The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner amongst many others.
This free event sees the band on stage for a two and a half hour set from 9.30pm onwards.
