POLICE are investigating after a dog was injured in a garden in Ramsey.
The two-year-old male Japanese Spitz dog was hurt at an address in Queen’s Pier Road on Monday.
It is thought that a stone may have been thrown at the animal’s head from outside the property. The dog was in the garden between 3pm and 6.30pm.
Sergeant Andy Kneen said: ‘Interested parties have widely circulated this incident via social media.
‘This has led to much speculation as the mechanism of how the dog was hurt and who may have been responsible. Some comments have been ill-informed and inflammatory.
‘Both the owner of the animal and Ramsey police ask that the focus of interest be on the animal’s welfare and ask that anyone who has any first-hand information to pass it Ramsey police, or anonymously to Crimestoppers.’
