The big games continue to come thick and fast in JCK Division Two this weekend when league leaders Douglas Athletic face a stern test of their title credentials.
Their opponents on Saturday are Gymns who currently lie third in the standings some seven points behind Athletic but with a game in hand.
The leaders have been in scintillating form so far this season, with a 100 per cent winning record from their opening six games, so confidence is sky high within the Springfield Road camp,
That said, Gymns go into this weekend’s contest on the back of a thumping 7-2 win over potential promotion rivals Colby and the Tromode side might fancy their chances of causing an upset on Saturday so an intriguing game could be in store.
Should Athletic slip up, Braddan will be waiting in the wings to pounce and close the gap at the top but they face a tough test of their own as they host Castletown at Victoria Road.
Third-placed Braddan are two points ahead of Town having played a game less and that, coupled with home advantage, suggests that the Swans should just edge this match.
An interesting match could unfold at Clagh Vane where Malew and Douglas Royal go head-to-head, with both sides currently in the bottom half of the table looking to kickstart their seasons.
Elsewhere in the second division, Onchan travel to Michael United, Foxdale are the visitors to Governor’s Athletic and Pulrose host Douglas and District.
