The Festival of Motorcycling continues this afternoon (Tuesday) with the opening race in this year’s Manx Grand Prix programme.
The three-lap Newcomers race is scheduled to get under way at 2pm with three classes contesting for honours - A (up to 750), B (twins) and C (400s).
Roads were due to close around the Mountain Course at 11.30am with a qualifying session being squeezed in between midday and 1pm for the MGP Senior, Supertwin and Lightweight classes. However, wet weather this morning has led to the road closure being delayed.
Roads will now close at 1pm, with the reduced Newcomers race away an hour later at 2pm. Qualifying for the other MGP classes will follow that, with the roads due to open at 5pm.
