The island’s dairy, Isle of Man Creamery, has won another award for one of its cheeses.

It is another accolade for its Vintage Cheddar Cheese.

Adding to May’s silver medal at the British Cheese Award it received further recognition at the International Cheese Show, which took place in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The annual awards represent a prestigious day on the industry’s calendar.

This year it marked its 118th event, with what proved to be its biggest yet.

A record-breaking 4,615 entries from 31 countries competed in more than 300 categories.

The UK Cheddar Cheese class is one the most popular of these categories and it was in this that the Isle of Man Creamery won a Highly Commendable Certificate from the judges for its Vintage Cheddar.

Managing director Findlay Macleod said: ‘At times of pressure in the dairy industry, our focus has to continue on quality products that people will pay a premium for.

‘To us, this accolade justifies our continued efforts in maintaining the highest possible standards across all of our products, so it’s rewarding to see our Vintage Cheddar is appreciated by both the public and critics alike.’

The Creamery’s Vintage Cheddar can be found on shelves of retailers as far away as the USA and was even served to business and first class passengers on Emirates Airlines flights leaving the United Kingdom.
