Douglas Athletic face a potentially stern test of their JCK Division Two title credentials this weekend when they welcome Castletown to Springfield Road.
Having had a superb transfer window, Athletic are being tipped by many to build on last season’s success and challenge for the title and promotion to the Premier League.
However, Town have also recruited well over the summer and will probably fancy their chances of causing an upset this weekend.
A close game could be in store at Balleira Road where recently-relegated Michael United host Pulrose United, while fellow demoted side Gymns welcome Onchan to Tromode.
Governor’s Athletic are hoping to upset a few teams this season and welcome Braddan to Noble’s Park on Saturday, while elsewhere in the second division Foxdale travel south to Colby and Douglas and District take on Malew at Clagh Vane.
