Ramsey could become the island’s dog-friendly capital, according to town commissioner Alex Allinson.
He has welcomed the Department of the Environment’s decision to lift its ban on allowing dogs into food premises, which means that dogs are now allowed into pubs and eateries at the operator’s discretion.
The responsibility will be on proprietors to ensure the presence of dogs does not compromise food safety.
‘It’s time responsible dog owners were applauded rather than demonised,’ said Dr Allinson.
‘If this takes off, Ramsey could become the most dog-friendly town in the Isle of Man!’
