Some 30 members of the island’s Women’s Institute attended a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Garden Party was held to celebrate the institution’s centenary year.
Members from around the UK attended the event which was hosted by the Duchess of Cornwall. She was joined by three other Royals, the Countess of Wessex, the Duchess of Gloucester and the Queen’s cousin Princess Alexandra.
Two brass bands played while tea and finger sandwiches were served as well as the famous Victoria Sponge cake. The original ‘Calendar Girls’ also attended the event.
After a windy afternoon spent holding onto hats, chatting to members from around the UK and marvelling at the beautiful gardens and Palace, the event came to a close at about 5pm.
