RYAN Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki machines filled all three podium places in the Supertwins race at the North West 200 on Thursday evening, with the Dungannon man on the top step.
It was his fourth career win at the North-West and his first for seven years.
Sensation of the night was runner-up, former 250cc Grand Prix and MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams, in his debut race on the 8.98-mile triangle course. The 48-year-old was just 2.9 seconds behind Farquhar at the close.
Completing the top-three was Michael Rutter, who produced the fastest lap of just 101mph in the wet conditions.
Fourth was James Hillier on another ER650 prepared by Farquhar but raced under the Bournemouth Kawasaki colours.
Adrian Archibald and Jamie Hamilton completed the top six with Dave Madsen-Mygdal 19th and Billy Cummins 25th.
Alastair Seeley had 22 seconds to spare over TT newcomer Lee Johnston in the Superstock race with Cameron Donald taking third place.
Tyco Suzuki rider Seeley never looked like being caught as he stormed into a commanding lead over Farquhar on the first lap in poor conditions. Riders were using a mixture of intermediate and wet tyres, but the track did dry out in the closing stages.
Bruce Anstey was among the earlier retirements, Ian Hutchinson and local man Dan Kneen were non-starters.
Hull-based Fermanagh man Johnston was thrilled with his runner-up finish after producing a fine ride on the Ducati. Cam Donald was third, Farquhar fourth and Italian Stefano Bonetti fifth.
Lap times increased as the race wore on with Seeley’s race average 111.010mph.
Conor Cummins was 11th, four places ahead of John McGuinness.
