A voucher system for commercial vehicles using Douglas tip is one of the measures being considered to restrict covert use by commercial organisations.
Currently the site has a height restriction of 2.2 metres. This was designed to deter people from depositing commercial waste, though some models of transit van will still fit under this.
The restriction is relaxed between 2pm and 3.45pm on a Sunday and on a Wednesday. The site’s managing committee is to decide if a voucher system, as operated in some parts of the UK, would be effective to restrict visits by commercial vehicles, rather than the height restrictor.
