Negotiations between the Isle of Man Post Office and representatives of both the Ramsey Postal Co-operative Group and Ramsey Commissioners have taken place to discuss alternative proposals to provide postal retail services in the town.
Both sides have agreed that no further public updates will be made until the process has reached its conclusion and the board of the Post Office is ready to announce its decision.
Ramsey’s Crown post office on Parliament Square and Douglas’s in Regent Street have been earmarked for closure and replacement with sub-post offices in nearby Spar shops.
But Ramsey’s Postal Co-operative Group has proposed to keep a sub-post office open in the Courthouse.
There has been strong feeling in Ramsey about the issue, which has led to protests and public meetings.
