Samaritans Isle of Man is inviting people to an open information session designed to advise potential volunteers on how they can help support their work.
The event, which takes place at the weekend, will see representatives of the Samaritans discuss the benefits of offering a sympathetic ear to those in need as well as outline the different ways in which they can help.
The open information session comes as the Samaritans are seeking listening volunteers to meet increasing caller demand, particularly in the early hours, as well as fundraising volunteers and administrators.
New volunteers will receive full training, continuing support and mentoring from friendly and experienced listeners.
The Samaritans have been working in the island for more than 30 years providing confidential, non-judgemental emotional support 24 hours a day.
If you think you could help, or are interested in finding out more about Samaritans Isle of Man volunteering, call the recruitment line on 251505 or go along to St Ninian’s Church, Douglas, between 1pm and 3pm tomorrow (Saturday).
