Peel’s relentless form in the Warehouse Fitness Women’s league continued on Sunday, the westerners moving joint top with Corinthians and Douglas Royal following an exciting 5-3 victory over Gymnasium at Douglas Road.
The westerners led 3-0 at the break, although there was a comeback from the Tromode outfit in the second half, Peel held out to record another impressive win.
Maxine Smalley (4) and Sarah Wignell were on target for the Sunset City side, Gymnasium responding through efforts from Nicki Naden, Alannah Hall and Eleanor Gawne.
The remaining league fixture involving Colby and DHSOB was postponed as the southerners couldn’t field a team.
