Gymnasium and Peel bagged their first point of the season in the Warehouse Fitness Women’s League on Sunday following a 2-2 draw at Tromode.
The hosts led 2-1 at the break, courtesy of an Eleanor Gawne brace, however, the westerners fought back via strikes from Sarah Wignall and Maxine Smalley.
DHSOB got their first win in over a year after defeating Colby 5-1 at Blackberry Lane. Leading 3-0 at half-time, Ceri Purvis (2), Rachael Christian (2) and Hannah Swan scored for the Douglas outfit, the southern response was in the form of Breesha Eaton-Smith’s deflected strike.
The match involving Douglas Royal and Castletown was postponed as the southerners, for the second successive week, were unable to field a team.
A full round-up of all the women’s football will appear in this week’s Manx Independent.
