Britain’s Carl Fogarty and New Zealand’s Graeme Crosby are two of the star names from the past returning to the island in the next couple of weeks for the Classic TT.
Both men will ride the Joey Dunlop Road Racing Legend rivals’ parade lap and the main TT Classic lap of honour.
‘The Isle of Man holds a special place in my heart as it was that part of my career that I look back on with the most happiness and pride,’ said seven-time world champion Foggy.
‘I can’t wait to see the new Classic TT event for myself after hearing good things about last year’s first event and I am particularly excited to be part of the tribute to Joey Dunlop.
‘Joey was a special rider and someone I looked up to and wanted to beat in those early world championship years.’
Having won the Newcomers Manx Grand Prix in 1985, the Blackburn ace was a star turn at the TT between 1986 and 1992, taking three wins and seven podiums as well as the outright lap record in 1992, his speed of 122.61mph remaining unbroken for seven years.
It was his rides in the Formula One World Championship that initially made his name, battling with Dunlop in each of his title-winning years, although it is perhaps his runner-up spot to Steve Hislop in the 1992 Senior - voted the greatest TT race of all time - that he is most fondly remembered for.
The Rotary Norton that Hislop rode that day will also be making a guest apearance at the Classic TT over the bank holiday weekend of August 23-25.
Graeme Crosby’s TT career spanned just three years but in that time he was nothing short of sensational, finishing a stunning fourth on his debut in the 1979 F1 and then scoring wins in the 1980 Senior, 1981 F1 and 1981 Classic race.
Both Croz and Foggy will be attending the Classic TT VIP hospitality events and RST Heroes Dinner. You can join them by purchasing tickets from.iomtt.com or by phoning 640000.
