IN ROUND six of the Pink Bag League at Port St Mary Golf Club, the bag had two outings in one day as Colin Mifflin finally took it out in the morning before the previous week’s loser Terry Boyle took it in the afternoon.
With damp and muddy conditions the scoring was relatively low. Winning on 18 points was one of the club sponsors, Norman Jacobs, who had a steady round except for a little tremble on the 8th hole.
Runner-up and missing out on the back six was another generous club sponsor Crispy Barnes, with two costly bogeys in the middle proving his downfall - that and playing with Gary Barlow’s dad!
Getting the pink bag with a season low of six points was Kyle Lunn - obviously giving up football and getting a girlfriend is helping his golf! Steve Crawley ‘ploughed’ his way round and paid for the coffees again.
The league table is very close after six rounds with YT and club pro leading by one shot from OBE with 10 points separating the top 10.
Next week is the annual three clubs and a putter Boxing Day bash - all are welcome.
